How to negotiate against 800 pound gorilla

Negotiating against cable companies is fairly simple.  Tonight I reached out to Comcast because I felt my monthly bill was too high. I have an Internet+Cable package. My bill always seemed to hover around $119.

Anyways, my quest to lower my bill started by logging onto my Comcast Account then I selected the Contact Us link and clicked on the Chat Now feature. This is open 24/7 and you will be talking to a live rep.  You will most likely have to wait about 25 mins or so. Once you get a hold of a rep they will ask you what your problem is.  Tell them you need to find a way to lower you monthly bill. They will then ask you to wait while they review your account. This takes about 15 min. While waiting tell them about the deal RCN is offering you.  Once they hear this they will factor this into the offering they are about to propose.

The key to negotiating against an 800 pound gorilla is using their competition against them.  I cut my bill in half to $62 for the same service I was paying $119 for just an hour ago.

Booya.
