Birkram Yoga

Lately I have been doing Bikram Yoga. This is known as hot yoga. The room temp is around 105 degrees so you are sweating out massive amounts of toxins and depending on your weight you are burning a crazy amount of calories. Like 1500 calories or so… Check out this Bikram Calorie Calculator

Bikram Yoga is two sets of 26 postures done in 90 minutes. It is pretty intense but I really like it. Anyone can do this type of yoga. All you need to do is go at it 100% the entire time and focus on breathing. If you cannot do the posture exactly correct, do it the best you can at 100% and you will see the benefits.

Bikram Yoga is a sweat box so not focusing on the little things can be beneficial. Don’t think about drinking so much water because it will slow you down. Don’t think about drying your dripping sweat, it will slow you down. Don’t count the number of postures you have completed, it will slow you down.

Get into your own zone and it will go by fast. Yoga is for the mind and body. I do it to stay sharp and motivated. So much better than the gym.
